In June 2008 The Barbour Charitable Trust donated £50,000 to the Cancer Connections ‘Buy a Brick’ Appeal.
Dame Margaret Barbour said: “The Barbour Trust was very impressed with the work that Cancer Connections has done to date in helping South Tyneside people and their families affected by cancer.
“We were delighted to be able to award the charity a donation of £50,000 to go towards the purchase of a property to continue their good work.”
