DOZENS of fundraisers braved the North Sea’s icy temperatures on Boxing Day at South Shield’s Littlehaven Beach to raise cash for Cancer Connections.
Volunteers donned their best fancy dress outfits, braved the cold and the waves, and were rewarded with a cup of hot soup – and the knowledge that they had helped Cancer Connections to provide a permanent home for volunteer cancer support for South Tyneside. To date the Dip has raised £4,913 and promised ponsorship is still arriving.
